Fantastic Field Skirt Outfit!

It's been a bit since I posted what I am wearing today.  I'm not the best at time management.  I allow myself just enough time to shower, get ready and go...who has time to break out the camera?  Today I managed to take a quick picture of my outfit sans shoes.  I'm not sure why the picture came out so orange...perhaps it is the relection off the orange coverlet, my orange walls and the orange in the skirt. LOL!

Anthropologie Fitting Room Pics

That time again for my monthly visit to Anthropologie post.  Yes, I said monthly because I don't think my wallet could handle more visits than that.  I know what my weaknesses are and I try to maintain control of them.  ^_^

This is what I wore to Anthropologie.  I thought I would post a pic of this top since I haven't yet.  This is an XS.

Cajoled Tank with Crossroads Belt in Black Motif

I really liked the detailing at the neckline of this top.  It's a bit sheer but I like that it's lightweight and would be good for hot summers.  I bought this in a S.  *Four days later I'm having second thoughts about my purchase.  I may return this top.  Undecided.

Time for Tea Shirt

I love this top.  I tried on a 2 and I think I could have fit into a 0 because it was a bit loose in the bust (32D) for me and the back is stretchy.  If they had a 0 for comparison, I might have bought it.  Wishlisted.

Creased Swirls Corset Top

I know we've all seen this very popular sweater.  I've tried it on once before, but wasn't ready to drop $88 on it.  I love the asymmetry to this top, it is very unique.  Happily this was on sale for $39.95, but to me it felt really scratchy.  I have this terrible childhood memory of me wearing this yellow wool Polo sweater to school, without an undershirt, and barely being able to move or bend my arms for the fear that the woolly fibers would start scratching and itching me.  I know TMI.  Size S.

Neo-Refinement Pullover

I really liked this dress on Kim from Anthroholic, but I think it's just meh on me.  I tried it on in a S, though I could have worn a XS, but I didn't love it enough to bother.  I think I would've liked the red/orange version they made but they didn't have it in store.

Land of Springs Dress

Want, want, want, I love this dress if you can't tell from my expression in the 2nd picture!  I would have bought it except for the $158 price tag (sigh).  I tried it on in a 2 which fit great in the bust and the length hit just at the floor with flats on.  It came with optional straps but I'm partial to the strapless look.  The dress also has two attached waist ties that you can wrap around and either tie in the front or back...I opted for the back.  I'm really considering going back and picking this up.  The only thing I'm torn about is how much wear I would get out of it.

Cultivated Maxi Dress

This tunic looked cute on the hanger, it looked like poo on me.  LOL!  This thing is huge!   If the fabric had been more substantial this would be a cute dress, but it is very sheer.  Tried on a XS.

Truth in Art Tunic

Another one of those pieces that I thought looked cute on hanger.  I was trying to match the top I bought (see above) and I thought the colors would work together.  The colors worked, but I just didn't like the skirt.  This was a 4 because it was the smallest size they had,  definitely could have fit in my typical 2 in this skirt.  I know it is possible that I might have liked this skirt more if I had the correct size and I wasn't wearing Toms.  Don't get me wrong I love my Toms but as for style appeal...minimal.

Poppy Options Set

Ever have those days where you just don't have time to take a picture of what you are wearing? I think that is why Polyvore was created, that and the endless amount of outfits that you can put together without having to try it on. I'm in love. Do you remember those fashion design sets that you may have had as a kid? The ones where you could design different outfits from the handful of plastic templates they had available. Polyvore is like that, but on steroids.

Anyway, this is what I wore today:

Double Duty Outfit

I know a lot of girls like versatile outfits.  An outfit you can carry over from the day into the night.  I am no exception to the rule.  During the day I typically LIVE in jeans.  Jeans are one of my first loves, well that and shoes.  Unfortunately, I can't wear jeans to work in the eveving, but I want to keep my upper half the same.  Today I was able to do just that.

*I notice a lot of people post what they are wearing with cell phone pictures. I'm not a big fan, but when you are in a hurry it is definitely a time saver.   Sorry they are a bit blurry! ^_^

Day:
  • Gypsy05 tank
  • The Limited Cardigan
  • Anthropologie Crossroads Belt in Black Motif
  • Seven for all Mankind Dusseldorf Dojo
  • Seychelles Watching the Clock Sandals (which you can't see)

Night:
I replaced the jeans with my Anthropologie Runny Yoke Skirt and I was ready for work!
Oh, and I added a push up bra.  LOL!

New Acquistions!

It's 2am on a Tuesday morning and where are most people...sleeping of course.  But, I'm not sleeping because there are new cuts on Anthropologie!!!  I really didn't know, I just happened to be awake, doing my usual Night Owl duties like watching Netflix, catching up on Authentic Forum and checking up to see if anything new had hit the sale racks of Anthro.  This morning must have been my lucky day!

I've been eyeballing this skirt for awhile.  It has something to do with the pleats, and I've just really been into skirts lately.  The reviews aren't great, but hey I'll give it a try.  The skirt has a lot of different colors in it, so should be pretty versatile.

Visionary Skirt

This top has been on my Anthro wishlist since I first created a wishlist.  The colors are fun and I love the twists at the top on the tank.   I think this will look great as it is, belted with a pair of jeans and it would also look lovely with a skirt too...maybe a Washi skirt?

Cajoled Tank

I own the black Crossroads belt and I think it is too cute.  I love how you can adjust the tightness of the belt since there are no holes in the belt.  When this belt went on sale, I picked up the grey and navy motif.

Three words:  Reversible.  Seamless.  Tank.  I love that these tanks are reversible, but not inside out reversible, you can either wear these v-neck or scoop neck styled.  How cool is that?  These two tanks will definitely add a little color pop to my wardrobe this spring.  *These weren't on sale, but $24.95 is a great price for a versatile layering wardrobe staple.

Reversible Seamless Tank in Raspberry (doesn't it look orangish to you?)

Reversible Seamless Tank in Maize

I've been wondering around Ebay again and happened upon some cute pieces at discount prices over the past few weeks.  One piece I lucked upon (as I like to call it) the other day was the Washi skirt.  I loved it from the moment I saw and tried it on, but for whatever reasons I didn't but it that day.  This skirt has pretty much stayed out-of-stock since then, and when I saw one on Ebay in my size I had to jump upon destiny.  LOL!

Washi Skirt

I'm not even sure what I bought here.  Is it a top?  It was listed as a dress, but how can that be?  My butt may hang out of this one.  But, I liked the print and it was only $9.99 and If I hate it, oh well I'll pass it along.  I'm sure it will look cute on somebody.

Another great find was this pretty Anthropologie raspberry tank.  I really like the ruffle placement on just one side of the tank.  Off topic, but I have to say I don't know what is happening to me.  I used to be the girl who dressed in all black, brown and gray.  What is this...more hot pink...on me?  Who IS that girl?  It must be the look of a girl in love!

Sideward Tank

Where does the time go?

Everyday I get dressed, imagine that, taking the time out to figure out what top I want to wear, which pants, jeans or skirts will go with it, and which shoes.  Or better yet as a shoe girl, do you start with the shoes and work your way up?  With all this gejing (getting oneself pretty) as my sister and I have been calling it for many years, who has time to break out the camera and the tripod?  Not only do I have to get myself ready, I LOVE to sleep late, and half the time I have a little person that I need to get ready also.  Most of the time this isn't a big deal, I mean does one really need daily pictures of themselves in their outfits?  Then I realized, I do, because this is the new task I have assigned to myself, to be a blogger, to put myself out there for the world to see.  I need to work on my post output, and I really need a better camera.

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to try to post an outfit pic every day...fancy or casual.  Wish me luck...because as we all know there never seems to be enough time in the day.

To get me started...an outfit I wore a week ago.

  • Earrings by Mom
  • Merona Cardi (S) Target
  • Anthropologie Resonance Cowlneck (S)
  • Merona Belt (S/P)
  • SFAM CAR Dojo (26)
  • Seychelles Round of Applause Pumps (7)
  • Crazy Kitty :)  Her look is priceless.

The Name Game

Since falling in love with Anthropologie, I've developed a problem.  I MUST know the name of each particular piece of clothing that I buy.  I found these really cute pants (I think) at Anthro for a deep discount (maybe there is a reason for that) and I took them home with me.  Now, the problem that I had with my purchase was not knowing the "name" of the pants.  The Fluffy Top pants...no, the Pleated Trouser...still no, so I went through pages and pages of Effortless Anthropologie (EA) because I knew somewhere in there was a sale listing and these pants were on that list.  I looked through 25-30 pages and I finally found them, yippy, I felt better after finding out the name than I did when I admired them in the dressing room.  Now, I have to figure out the name of the top...sigh.

Here they are...The Board Room Trouser!

Sale Section Finds and Fit Pics!

I decided to return my With a Twist Tank to my local Anthropologie store because it was too big and hit the sale section.

 Wind Smocked Henley
Gathering Tank and Runny Yoke Skirt
Simple Compositions Blouse and Runny Yoke Skirt

The Henley (S) was cute, comfortable and TTS, but kind of plain.  I liked the Gathering Tank (XS) but it fit kind of weird...loose on top and tight in the tummy...one of those annoying pieces of clothing you are always adjusting.  I loved the Simple Compositions Blouse (0) but I wouldn't pay $78 for it, hope it goes on sale so I have it wish listed.   I loved the Runny Yoke Skirt (2) so I ended up buying it.  The skirt has really nice pleats in the front and is sturdy and well constructed.  You could definitely dress the skirt up or down and it become a staple in your wardrobe.

Garden or Undersea Exploration Tee & Quiet Approach Skirt

Springing Season Blouse with Runny Yoke Skirt

Springing Season Blouse with Board Room Trouser

I like the Garden(Undersea) Tee (S) but it was a bit too big,  an XS would have been perfect if they had had it in the store.  The Quiet Approach Skirt (4) was cute but was way too big.  Anthro had a 0 in the skirt which I had previously tried on, but it was too small for me.  I would have bought a 2...if they had it in the store.  I loved the Springing Season Blouse (2).  The blouse is very lightweight and sheer and I love the ruffles on the sleeve.  The 2 was the smallest size in the blouse they had in the store, but I'm sure a 0 would have fit also.  I also bought the Board Room Trouser (0) because they were only $19.95 and I thought they were cute.  My Fiance said the pants kind of look like Hammer or Harem pants, but when I put them on for him he said I look good in everything, I love you too baby.   I'm okay with knowing I may be the only person that likes them.

 Study of Shapes Dress

Spliced Ikat Shift

 Fletching Dress

I loved the Study of Shapes Dress (2) but I wasn't ready to drop $79.95 on it.  If the dress makes a second cut, I'll get it for sure.  The second dress I was unsure about...the print I didn't love and the 0 fit tight in the chest for me, but I was fairly certain the 2 would have been too big everywhere else.  The Fletching dress (0) I thought was a bit washed out in color and the top fit a bit large, it kept flopping open and the built in under slip was so sheer you could see your bra.

Magnified Corolla Dress

Crossroads Belt in Black Motif

Someone on the clothing forum I frequent had posted the Magnified Corolla Dress (0) and I thought it looked really cute on them, so I tried it on.  I ended up buying the dress because I thought it was more me than the previous dresses I tried on.  Before I could walk out of the store with my purchases, I saw the Crossroads Belt in Black Motif (S/P) and had to go back to the checkout to buy it.  LOL!

Poppy Options Cowlneck in Neutral Motif with Crossroads Belt in Black Motif

The Crossroads Belt went great with the Magnified Corolla Dress in my opinion.  I threw in a pic of the Crossroads Belt with the Poppy Options Cowlneck because the belt is very versatile...I wore them together last night.
